AI-Powered Modeling (AI Assistant)

The AI SysML v2 Editor features an integrated AI Assistant designed to accelerate your modeling workflow. By using natural language, you can generate complex SysML v2 structures, refine existing models, and perform deep analysis without writing every line of code from scratch. This section explains how to use these AI SysML tool capabilities effectively.

Accessing the AI Assistant

To open the AI Assistant, click the AI Assistant (Sparkle) icon in the right-hand panel or use the quick-access button available in the diagram toolbar. The assistant provides a tabbed interface for both Diagram Generation and Model Reporting.

Generating Models from Natural Language

You can transform a high-level system description into a functional SysML v2 model in seconds. This is the primary way to use the AI SysML v2 software to kickstart a new project.

1. Open the AI Assistant and select the Diagram tab.
2. Select a View Type: Choose the type of diagram you wish to generate (e.g., Use Case, Requirement, Activity, Sequence, or Part Structure).
3. Enter Your Prompt: Describe your system in the text box. For example: “Generate a part structure for an electric vehicle charging station including the power unit, user interface, and safety sensors.”
4. Click Generate. The AI SysML editor will produce the textual SysML v2 code and display a preview.

Refining Existing Models

The AI SysML tool is also capable of updating or recontextualizing the model you are currently working on.

• Recontextualize: If you have a file open, you can ask the AI to “Apply this change to my current model” or “Add a new safety requirement to this existing architecture.”
• Preview Changes: The AI Assistant displays the generated code in a side-by-side preview window. You can review the changes before deciding to Apply them to your main editor or Copy them to your clipboard.

Generating Analytical Reports

Beyond code generation, this SysML v2 software can analyze your system architecture to provide engineering insights.

1. Switch to the Report tab in the AI Assistant.
2. Select a Report Type:
   • Executive Summary: A high-level overview of the system architecture.
   • Architecture Review: An in-depth look at the structural integrity of your model.
   • Requirements Traceability: Analysis of how requirements are satisfied by system parts.
3. Click Generate Report. The AI will analyze your active model and provide a formatted Markdown report including Metrics (Complexity, Consistency) and Recommendations.

Best Practices for AI Prompts

To get the best results from the AI SysML editor, follow these tips:

• Be Specific: Instead of “Make a car,” try “Generate a SysML v2 part definition for a hybrid car powertrain including an internal combustion engine and an electric motor.”
• Iterate: Start with a basic structure and use the AI to add details in subsequent prompts.
• Verify: Always review the AI-generated code. While the AI SysML tool is highly accurate, systems engineering requires human oversight to ensure technical correctness.
